Frequently asked questions

Does this remove visible content?

No - only document properties are removed. Page content, links and annotations are untouched.

Can I see what will be removed first?

Yes. Every property is listed with its current value, and nothing is changed until you select properties and confirm.

Are all metadata fields removed?

Standard Info fields, custom Info properties, the catalog language and the XMP metadata stream can be removed. Extended XMP segments embedded by some editors may not be fully cleared.

Is this secure deletion?

No. It rewrites document metadata, but does not guarantee forensic-level scrubbing of all residual bytes.

Confirm metadata removal

This edits document properties only; page content, links, annotations and forms are preserved where the PDF engine supports it. Some metadata structures (for example extended XMP written by other editors) may not be fully removed. Your original file is not changed — a separate cleaned PDF is created.
